YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armenian government is taking steps aimed at settling the differences between the largest providers of the Internet services in Armenia–"Arminco" and "ArmenTel."
Talking to Noyan Tapan–Executive Manager of the "Arminco" company Andranik Aleksanian said that the problems that arose in the relations between the two companies are settled with the active participation of Minister of Post and Telecommunications Artak Vardanian. Alexanian said that all the problems that arose during the last year in connection with the agreement–communication channels and leasing of rooms will be solved in the near future.
"ArmenTel" demanded that "Arminco" should vacate the premises rented from "ArmenTel" by March 15. Devices for international electronic communication are installed in the premises. Alexanian explained that it will take at least six months to carry the equipment somewhere else. During this period most of the Internet users will be deprived of Internet connection.
At present this danger has passed as ArmenTel has decided to continue to lease its premises–Alexanian said. In fact–on March 9 "Arminco" started the partial test operation of the new high-speed communication channel. The final terms of providing the new channel will be specified by means of negotiations.
