
YEREVAN–The 13th annual Hamazkayin Armenian Cultural and Educational Forum kicked off Sunday with 70 participants from the US, France, Australia, Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria and Armenia.
On the first day of the Forum, the participants visited Yerevan State University and met with its director Prof. Aram Simonian. Following the discussion, they visited YSU’s library and research facilities to better acquaint themselves with the operations of the insititution.
After YSU, the participants went to the American University of Armenia, where they met with administrators and staff.
In the coming two weeks, the participants will visit various sites in Armenia, will take part in seminars and lectures on Armenia culture, history and politics and will meet with prominent scholars and academicians.
The Hamazkayin Forum began at the Nshan Palandjian Jemaran in Lebanon, but due to the political situation there it was moved to Armenia, where it has been held for the past six years.
