YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Microsoft and Armenia’s official post operator, HayPost, signed a high-level agreement of cooperation on Tuesday to boost the productivity of Haypost’s operations by implementing Microsoft practices and technologies
The document was signed by the head of Microsoft’s Armenian office Grigor Barseghian and General Director of Haypost Hans Bon.
The goal of the agreement is to help Haypost apply leading technology of Microsoft and by using them increase the productivity of its resources. Microsoft will conduct training classes with IT specialists as well as will organize seminars for more effective usage of new technology.
"The parties which signed the agreement are considered our main strategic partners in respect to the implementation of cooperation programs of state and private sectors," according to Economic Minister Nerses Yeritsian, whose praise for the initiative was conveyed by the head of the Information Technology Department of the Armenian Economic Ministry Zhenya Azizyan.
The policy adopted by the two corporations coincides with the policies adopted by the Armenian Government, Yeritsian said.
Yeritsian noted that a new concept of IT development has been worked out which particularly refers to the issues on providing high quality electronic services and the formation of information society.
"Microsoft believes that by applying leading technologies Haypost will provide services corresponding to international standards," Barseghian said. "Microsoft is ready to share its knowledge and experience it has accumulated."
The agreement has been signed for a 3-year term and includes a clause allowing for its extension.
