YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenia is the best potential market for computer equipment in the CIS–according to representatives of Hewlett Packard–a computer equipment and software producer. Representatives of the company’s Russian affiliate explained why they decided to hold the second presentation of their products in Yerevan in the duration of one year–saying that Armenia is a promising market for their products. Unlike the previous presentation–when representatives of Armenian information companies were invited–this time–workers of different institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia were mainly invited to the presentation.
According to Hewlett Packard Director General for Russia and CIS countries Gilmar Lawrence–the company intends to carry out a series of large-scale projects together with Armenian partners–getting ready to gain a foothold in the banking–information and enterprise management spheres. In Russia–the company was issued a license for distributing a number of products related to security–which–according to Lawrence–can be used in Armenia provided issues of the language of their products and their compliance with Armenian legislation are settled.
