YEREVAN–After attending official opening ceremonies in Yerevan’s Ani Hotel–seventy-three delegates from around fourteen countries who gathered in Armenia for Homenetmen’s 8th General Convention–departed for Dzaghgadzor to begin their work.
The meeting opened that evening and continued for the next three days–ending on Saturday–June 7.
After briefings by the regions on their activities–as well as four-year financial and activity reports by the Homenetmen Central Executive–the delegates reviewed and examined in detail past activities related to scouting–athletics–publications–economics–and other undertakings.
Held in Armenia for the first time–the Homenetmen General Convention turned specific attention to the activities of Armenia and Javakhk Homenetmen–passing several important decisions to exert all-out effort to strengthen and advance the two newly established bodies.
At the end of the convention–the Homenetmen General Convention elected a new Central Executive (CE) to serve the organization for the next four years. The thirteen-member CE is composed of the following:
