YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"In his inaugural speech President Robert Kocharian said what we can and must expect from him–and we must demand that he realize all provisions he voiced in his speech," Armenian Revolutionary Federation Executive Council of Armenia representative Vahan Hovanessian told Noyan Tapan. He also mentioned that his party is ready to assist Kocharian in implementing these programs–the initiation of which is not far off.
Hovanessian pointed out that the ARF is now on the left and the National Democratic Union is on the right–while the Ramkavar Part is at the center. He pointed out however–that this alignment is artificial unless it is reflected in the parliament.
Hovanessian deemed it necessary to hold early parliamentary elections after adopting a new election code and completing judicial reforms. According to him–it is probable and even desirable that early parliamentary elections be held late this year. "I don’t mean to embarrass the new president–this is our standpoint which we will be presenting to Robert Kocharian from now on," said Hovanessian.
