YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)The International Fund for Agricultural Development is expected to start implementation of a large-scale program–which aims "to promote agricultural development in northwestern Armenia in the second half of 1997–said a representative of Armenia’s Ministry of Agriculture Andranik Petrossian.
He also said that a regular conference of IFAD-member countries will be held in Rome from Feb. 20-22. Deputy Agriculture Minister of Armenia Ishkhan Martirossian–Armenia’s representative to IFAD– is expected to attend the conference.
According to Petrossian–the deputy minister will hold negotiations with IFAD administration on the implementation of the above-mentioned program–as well as a program on rehabilitating Armenia’s irrigation system–partly sponsored by IFAD.
