YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–From January through June 1999 industrial products worth $246.2 million were manufactured in Armenia–which exceeds the last year’s total by 2.8 percent–the Ministry of Statistics–State Register and Analysis reported.
Products worth $268.2 million were sold during the first six months of 1999. Products worth $68.2 million were exported to various CIS countries. And $32.6 million worth of products were exported to other countries.
During the six months industrial production grew in Yerevan and other regions of Armenia. The productions in Yerevan grew by 14.4 percent–in Gegharkunik by 52.4 percent–in Siunik by 19.1 percent–in Aragatsotn by 18.9 percent–and in Armavir by 4 percent.
It should be noted that the share of the products manufactured in Yerevan made up 40 percent of the total volume of production. The shares of the products manufactured in Kotayk and Armavir make up 17.9 percent and 13.1 percent respectively.
During the first six months of 1999 the output level of 36 out of 114 types of products (15 types of producer’s goods and 21 types of consumer’s goods) met and even exceeded last years level.
