YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–At the January 7 hearing of the October 27 case–the prosecution finished interrogating defendant Karen Hunanian about the contradictions in his testimony from the pre-trial investigation and in court.
The defendant refuted the evidence he had given during the pre-trial investigation concerning a number of people–stating that he had been coerced into giving the pre-trial testimony. The defendant refused to answer most questions asked by Attorney Ashot Sargssian–the representative of the legal successor of Karen Demirchian.
However–K. Hunanian did confirm some of the testimony given during the pre-trial investigation was true.
The other defendants will be called to court during the next hearing of the case on January 11. The protocol of the interrogation about the contradictions in K. Hunanian’s evidence will be read out to them. The other defendants–including Nairi Hunanian–were removed from the court during Karen Hunanian’s interrogation–in particular–because of Nairi Hunanian’s attempts to coerce his brother to give certain responses.
