YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Israeli Embassy to Armenia is mainly studying Armenia–gathering information on the republic to provide it to Israeli businessmen to veer their investmen’s to Armenia–and to develop cooperation between the two countries–new Ambassador of Israel to Armenia and Georgia Ehud Mose Eitam said at a Wednesday press conference.
According to Eitam–Israel and Armenia will always have an amicable relationship regardless of their relations with neighboring countries. The ambassador said that Armenia and Israel have numerous spheres in which to cooperate. According to him–Armenian experts have already visited industrial enterprises of Israel and their Israeli colleagues are scheduled to pay a similar visit to Armenia.
According to Eitam–Armenia is known for its scientific potential. He said the two countries already cooperate in this sphere. Also–Armenian and Israeli high schools organize and will continue to organize visits for students and teachers.
The ambassador noted that the Israeli embassy has no residence in Armenia due to financial–not political reasons. He reported that in CIS countries Israeli embassies are located in those republics which have larger Jewish communities. And the biggest Jewish community in the Caucasus is in Georgia.
Eitam reported that there are numerous communities in Israel–and as it is a democratic country–those communities operate well and prosper. The presence of different cultures in Israel–according to him–enriches Israel’s culture. Currently about 3,000 to 4,000 Armenia’s live in Israel.
