WASHINGTON (Hurriyet)—Turkey’s ambassador to the US, Namik Tan, has enlisted the support of a Jewish organization in opposing the Armenian Genocide Resolution. The Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA) released on Tuesday a position paper titled, “The Armenian Resolution Should be Opposed and Defeated.”
Ambassador Namik Tan met with “the representatives of almost all Jewish lobbies and organizations in Washington” over the weekend, according to sources in the Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C. According to the same sources, Tan met with the representatives of “eight or 10 Jewish organizations,” including the Anti-Defamation League (ADL); American Jewish Community (AJC) and B’nai B’rith International. They said the meetings were not only focused on the Armenian Genocide bill.
JINSA, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization that addresses the security requirements of both the U.S. and Israel, released its report a day after Tan’s meetings.
The report said that: “to the extent that either side believed opposition to the resolution was a test of loyalty, or tied it to extraneous issues, they made a mistake. The Armenian resolution -driven largely by the Armenian-American community- should be opposed and defeated. But the reasons stand without regard to the [increasingly difficult] behavior of the Turkish government and without regard to [increasingly difficult] Turkish-Israeli or Turkish-American relations.”
“As the Turkish government began to slide — and then rush — away from its relationship with Israel and slide — and then rush — toward new accommodations with Syria and Iran, the Jewish community has become less inclined to use its organizational skill on behalf of the agenda of a country that is less inclined toward the Western side of the great divide. It doesn’t help that the Turkish ‘request’ for ‘help’ has begun to sound more like a threat of damage yet to come,” the report added.
Tan already met with the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Howard Berman last week as well as several key members of the House, the embassy source confirmed. He also met with the Turkish associations working in the United States last week.
With Dick Cheney, Douglas Feith, Stephen Solarz and the rest of the neocon criminals as “advisors” to this organization, one wonders if anything illegal is cooked up with this organization vis-a-vis the U.S. state department and pentagon. Spying? Arms dealing? Assinations? The list goes on.
We were happy that our Jewish brothers were coming to our side.
What is this news suppose to be
I think we should talk to our friendly Rabbis for their help.
This is unbelievable
SHAME..SHAME FOR JEWISH PEOPLE !!!:)
The fleecing of the US taxpayer by directly funneling billions of US dollars and free arms to Israel under the guise of “aid” an “ally” are largely Jewish-American driven-should be opposed and defeated. But the reasons stand without regard to the absolutely hypocritical, morally bankrupt and ultra self serving Jewish stance and their continual complicity in the denial of the Armenian Genocide
@John Keusseyan,
i agree it’s ALL of the above. these zionist criminals have doing immense damage to Us.
Shame does not begin to describe it for Jews everywhere. The level of hypocrisy exhibited by Jews on the issue of the Armenian Genocide, the first Genocide of the 20th century, is astounding. Today any and all Holocaust deniers are hailed as “Anti-semites”, a term which has lost its depth and credibility due to its overuse by Jewish organizations and idiotic Abraham Foxmans everywhere. Amidst all of the “anti-semite” shouting, Jews and their lobbies have the nerve to cry “anti-semite” in one breath, and then proclaim “the Armenian Genocide bill should be defeated” or the ever popular phrase they have in the recent past harped, namely “the Armenian Genocide should be left to Armenians and Turks to decide as well as historians”. Perhaps it is high time Jews started practicing a bit of what they preach so adamantly for once.
The tune of 60-100 billion in reparations they benefitted from for the past 60 years does not seem to be subject to Jewish claims of “such matters should be left strictly to historians, not politicians”, but when it comes to Armenian Genocide recognition, the matter all of a sudden become one for “only historians”. Every Jew, regardless of where or when they come in contact with an Armenian, should bow their head down in shame when walking past us. Those Jews involved in such scandalous campaigns against proper Armenian Genocide recognition and reparation represent the very essence of hypocrisy, deceit, and moral bankruptcy. “The Light onto the Nations”, hardly, you hypocrites barely qualify as matchsticks.
The US does not deny the American Slavery, does not deny the slaughter of the Indians, and the US does not deny the war of 1812. However, the Hebrew State of Israel, Turkey, and the US State Department deny the Armenian holocaust.
I wonder what the American Jewry and Holocaust survivors think of organizations such as JINSA, ADL, and AJC.
Does American Jewry know that the word Genocide was coined by Jurist Raphael Lemkin, a lawyer of Polish-Jewish descent and a Holocaust survivor; to specifically describe the destruction of Armenians and the barbarity that befell upon them at the hands of the Turkish state?
If Raphael Lemkin was still alive he would have been ashamed at these hypocrite organizations.
Rabbi Hillel said it best, “If I am not for myself, then who will be for me? And if I am only for myself, then what am I? And if not now, when?”
It seems that Turks are not the only ones with a low moral standing. For Jews to support the criminal genocidal Turks to defeat the resolution, is the height of a treacherous act. And these are the people who have been through genocides themselves…..well, tell me who you friends are and I’ll tell you who you are
I’m not sure why we’re focusing so much attention on Jewish votes on the resolution. Jews are one of the tiniest ethnic groups in the world with only a few single digit millions living in the United States and Israel and lesser numbers elsewhere. As such, they only make up the tiniest percentage of Congressional votes.
We all understand that (1) Jews living in Turkey may be killed by Turkish nationalists and (2) Israel may have yet another large Muslim country as a deadly enemy depending upon their support for this resolution. So, however Jewish Congressmen vote, they’ll consider those likely outcomes.
That’s why we should be focusing upon the 99.9% majority NON-JEWISH Congressmen who have no threats against them for their very survival. How THEY will vote will determine whether or not the resolution passes.
Anti-semitic comments along the lines of some on this page are repulsive. Jews are, of course, firmly against genocide based upon their own history. But their votes may be impacted by their fear that another genocide may be perpetrated against them if they support the resolution.
Let’s focus on the Congressmen who DON’T have Turkish guns pointing at their heads.
It’s an unfortunate fact that the Jewish lobby shapes a great majority of our foreign policy. usually to their benifit alone. No one is asking them to support the Armenian genocide but how about just staying out of it? I don’t buy the notion that if they don’t help the Turks deny the Armenian genocide then somehow they will be harmed. That excuse is getting old.
I wonder if there is anything new to diaspora Armenians about Jewish Zionist objection to Armenian Genocide recognition? We know for long that in order to demolish Turkish denial of Armenian Genocide we’re bound to uproot Jewish zionist claws off the US politics. We need to unite our forces against these demons.
It is a shame that our Jewish brothers not there for us. Short term gain, Long term pain for the Jewish nation.
Score, Turks & The SS + JINAS = 3
The Armenians = 0
What was the quote by Adolf Hitler that is engraved on one of the walls of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.?

ADL’s support of Turkey’s denialist campaign is no doubt stemmed from hatered and animosity towards the Armenians in general. They should consider naming their organization to PDL,as in PRO-Defamation League.
