YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A seminar organized by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Executive Council of Armenia in cooperation with the French Jean Jaures fund began in Yerevan late last week.
The student–youth and regional organizations of the ARF of Armenia were among the major participants in the seminar on "Political parties and mode of action."
"An attempt has been made to involve the people who will enter the political scene," member of the ARF Executive Council of Armenia–Gehgam Manoukian told Noyan Tapan.
Throughout the duration of the seminar–the representatives of the "Jean Jaures" organization presented lectures with the participants discussing myriad issues such as political communication–election campaigns and relations with the press.
The Jean Jaures has been operating in France as a political institution which shares the ideology of the French socialist party. Former French prime minister and current chairman of the Socialist International Pierre Moroix is chairman of this organization.
At present–the ARF enjoys observer status in the Socialist International–but–according to Manoukian–the party is expected to become a full member of the organization in the near future.
Manoukian emphasized that in contacts with Socialist International member organizations–the ARF also presented Armenia’s official position on the Karabakh conflict resolution–attempting to provide a positive perspective on the matter.
The Socialist International includes political organizations from 130 countries.
