STEPANEKERT (Combined Sources)–The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Central Electoral Commission met Saturday and ratified the results of Thursday’s presidential election which elected Bako Sahakian the new president of the republic.
The final results of the elections were announced during the meeting. According to the voting lists, the total number of the eligible voters was 92,114. 93,196 ballot papers were provided to electoral commissions. The number of the unused, incorrectly filled and returned ballot papers reached 21,913. The number of registered voters taking part in the vote was 71,286.
The CEC declared 1,594 ballot as invalid. Armen Abgaryan got 867 votes, Vanya Avetisyan ‘s 212, Hrant Melkumyan ‘s 554, Masis Mailyan 8,734 and Bako Sahakyan received 59,326 votes.
The protocol was signed by all member of the CEC, following which the Commission issued the decision about the election of the President.
At the end of the meeting the President of the Central electoral Commission thanked all the organizations and individuals engaged in the elections as well as the people of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, who actively participated in the voting.
