STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)–Karabakh’s Foreign Minister Naira Melkoumian met with Secretary General and Coordinator of the Forum of Armenian Association of Switzerland–Toros Sagerian–Tuesday.
Sagerian discussed with Melkoumian the activities of the Armenian community of Switzerland–which are particularly aimed at defending the interest of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. According to him–there has been a growing interest toward Nagorno Karabakh among the Armenia’s of Switzerland ever since a large group of community representatives visited Karabakh last year. Those who visited Karabakh became ardent advocates of the rights and freedoms of the people of Karabakh.
Melkoumian–in turn–presented the internal political situation in Karabakh–as well as the current state and prospects for a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict. She stressed the importance of the steps being launched by the Armenian community of Switzerland–especially since most international organizations are headquartered in Geneva and other Swiss cities.
The two stressed the need for coordinated efforts and the best use of Diasporan potential.
