YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Baroness Cox has written a letter to writer Zory Balayan assuring him that the House of Lords will certainly discuss the Nagorno-Karabakh problem despite the cancellation of her July visit to Karabakh.
As reported by Balayan–Baroness Cox wrote in her letter that the discussion is a necessity. According to Balayan–Baroness Cox thinks that the Karabakh problem differs from others–including the Chechan struggle–because the adherents to Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity does not take into account that a Genocide will inevitably take place in Karabakh.
"The strangest thing is that the international community has completely forgotten the facts of the Armenian Genocide in Sumgait–Baku–Getashen–Martuni and Hadrut regions. These events forced the Karabakh leadership to take up arms. This means that the only guarantor of Karabakh’s security is the Armenian army of Artsakh and its people," Lady Cox writes.
Baroness Cox also said that the House of Lords will take into consideration the International Christian Union’s concern over the statement by the US–Russia and France–as well as Aliyev’s and Yeltsin’s forthcoming visits to the US.
The International Christian Union finds it necessary to call on the international community to concentrate its attention on the aggravated situation in Karabakh with the purpose of preventing another genocide of the Armenian people.
