YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Karabakh issue will remain unchanged during the next five years–said the head of the Russian Globalization Issues Institute Mikhail Belyagin at the meeting with reporters in Moscow–devoted to the Russian-American relations.
The head of the Russian Academy of Sciences affiliated Institute of US and Canada Sergey Rogov said that the Karabakh issue is not a top priority for the United States.
Belyagin thinks that the US will become closer to Azerbaijan in the coming years–however–he added that their relationship does not mean that Russia and Armenia will suffer.
However–Armenia will not gain much from the situation if America is ready to cooperate with the most authoritarian regimes of the Central Asia and Trans-Caucasus. Armenia’s position will become less important for Washington if Washington’s relationship with other Central Asian and Caucasian countries continues to develop.
