YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President Robert Kocharian met Friday with prime minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Anushavan Danielian.
Congratulating Danielian upon his appointment–the president voiced hope that the new prime minister would be able to correct mistakes made in the past in economic policy and improve the social and economic status of the republic.
The two exchanged views on issues concerning the economic situation in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and cooperation between Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. Danielian noted the importance of customs and tax reforms.
Kocharian assured that Armenia will actively promote economic reforms in Artsakh and will support all steps aimed at improving population’s conditions.
The same day Danielian met with chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Karen Demirchian.
Congratulating Danielian upon his appointment–Demirchian voiced confidence that the activities of Danielian will promote the development of Karabakh’s economy–efficient reforms in various fields–and the improvement of the people’s conditions.
The two discussed interparliamentary and intergovernmental cooperation–and the Karabakh conflict settlement.
