STEPANAKERT (ArmRadio)—The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Self-Defense Army announced Friday that one of its soldiers, 20-year-old Aharon Hayrapetyan was killed Thursday evening by Azeri snipers in another violation of the cease-fire.
This latest Azeri violation came a day before OSCE Chairman in Office, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Ažubalis, was due to meet with leaders of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic as part his tour of the region and hours after a prisoner swap monitored by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
“The Armenian serviceman was fatally wounded in the eastern direction of the line of contact between the armed forces of Nagorno Karaabakh and Azerbnaijan, near Askeran. He was immediately taken to a military hospital, where he died at 6:59 p.m.,” reported the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army press service.
“The fact that the Azeri side carried out its repeated attack an hour after the exchange of prisoners under an agreement by the presidents in Sochi, indicates that the Azeri side does not only fail to respect the ceasefire, but also tries to deliberately bypass any mission targeted at the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” added the Karabakh Army statement. “International organizations involved in the conflict resolution process must provide the adequate response to this issue.”

“…must provide the adequate response to this issue” — the only adequate and appropriate response to this issue is bombarding them. I mean, really. How many times do we hear Armenian soldiers being killed by Azeris. And what do Armenians do, we go ask the west and euro morons for some support, nothing transpires and usually is in the Azeri favor. One good bombardment would make them think twice about violating the cease fire again. Imagine if this is some other country, if another military kills even one of your soldiers it is an act of war. They won’t go have a cup of tea and meet with queer representatives who pretend to care, they take action. How long do you think this cycle will last anyway?
we should not trust Azeris or Turks.There is old Armenian saying it sais {shoune sire paits pateh mished tzerked bahe.}
Forget invading and attacking Azerbaidjian. If we start anything, then the Russians will have an excuse not to interfere. However, we can profit at the negociation table. For every incident, at least six months of postponements, deliberations, mass funerals, lots of publicity, etc. Time is in our favor. Azerbaidjians luck will run out when the last drop of oil runs out. Same day.
an adequate response will be to occupy them and distribute that artificial country to their rightful owners which are different ethnics.
What our president should do is cancel a meeting with Aliyev if another such incident occurs. The turks need to fear us–there is no other way. Canceling a meeting would show him that we are serious. Once a meeting is canceled, if he fires again, we should return fire in much greater proportion than the committed offense. That is a way to fight a Turk or any Muslim for that matter
The people here are meek, perhaps due to being victims of Genocide. One person wants to rely on negotiations. Where did the 1878 Treaty of Berlin lead us to? Negotiations come through show of strength and in the case of the middle east–threats. Another person uses the “Shune sire….” analogy. We don’t need to like the Turks. A dog is a loyal animal that may occasionally bite. The Turk bites all the time and retreats only with the show of teeth. Although if he bites and you show teeth, he’ll complain to the world that your stance is threatening and barbaric. The stupid world falls for his cries.
