YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan will be held in Strasbourg upon the initiative on the chairwoman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe–after the presidential election in Azerbaijan is over in order to resume the Karabakh peace process–the head of the "Reforms" deputy group Armen Martirossian told a briefing on September 17. He was pleased to note that the Council of Europe sponsors a meeting of delegations from Armenia–Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh in Strasbourg on November 3-4. Martirossian stressed the importance of the participation of Karabakh in the meeting as a party to the conflict.
Martirossian reported that Georgia will be admitted to the Council of Europe by January–while Armenia’s and Azerbaijan’s membership of that organization is still questionable: the issue can be solved if there is noticeable progress in the Karabakh settlement.
