SHOUSHI, Artsakh—On September 8, a public prayer took place at the Ghazanchetsots Cathedral in Shoushi, served by Catholicos Karekin II, reported Artsakh’s press service.

After the public prayer, the Pontiff relayed a message to the audience. “We once again value our victories and achievements, as well as recall our all heroes with reverence, who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Artsakh and our homeland security. The previous two and a half decades were years of strengthening and gradual reinforcement of the Nagorno-Kharabakh Independence,” he said.
This event was a part of Karekin II’s visit to Nagorno-Karabakh for the meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council from September 6-8.
In addition to the three-day meeting, the Catholicos spent his few days visiting military units in Artsakh, meeting with commanders and soldiers and visiting the frontlines at the border of Artsakh and Azerbaijan.
