SANTA BARBARA – Local business owner and Republican Congressional Candidate Katcho Achadjian kick started his campaign on Saturday in what looks to be a race to victory for the Assemblyman.
Turnout for the event was high, as eager supporters traveled from all over the district to meet at the rally. Ready to go in their “#TeamKatcho” t-shirts, volunteers celebrated the start of the campaign season before heading out to knock on doors.
“I am proud to announce that my campaign to represent you in Congress is officially in full swing,” Assemblyman Achadjian exclaimed. “With your help, we’re going door-to-door across the Central Coast to earn each and every vote – and that starts today.
Dozens of volunteers walked precincts following the rally, knocking on more than 1,000 doors throughout the afternoon.
Dr. Judith Ishkanian, an active Santa Barbara resident and staunch supporter said: “Byron and I were honored to attend the Santa Barbara inaugural event for Achadjian. This quiet spoken man has lived the American Dream, not just talked about it. From 30 years of success in business, followed by admirable political accomplishments, he continues to serve with the wisdom that comes from experience.”
Achadjian, who immigrated in 1971 to pursue his degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, has earned substantial support from local organizations. A respected business leader and active member of the community, Katcho has already been endorsed by numerous current and former elected officials, the California Small Business Association, the California Association of Highway Patrolmen, the San Luis Obispo Cattlemen’s PAC, and the SLO County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association.
Katcho has previously served on the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors, and is a founding member of the San Luis Obispo Law Enforcement Assistance Foundation. He has owned and operated a local small business since 1978.
Achadjian is the leading candidate in the race for the 24th Congressional District which encompasses Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and part of Ventura County. Katcho has represented the residents of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties for more than a decade. He currently lives in San Luis Obispo with his family.
