YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Acting President and Prime Minister Robert Kocharian was chosen as "Man of the Year" by 1998 International Statesman.
"We would like to inform you that you are one of three candidates whom our committee has awarded the title "Man of the Year" from among well known outstanding honored artists–scientists–and politicians," read a letter addressed to Kocharian.
"We chose you based on our analysis of countless publications in various editions of the world press who have written many favorable articles about your work. Newspapers in New York–Los Angeles–Chicago–Philadelphia–Ottawa–Buenos Aires–London–Paris–and various cities in Russia and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States–have published articles about the presidential elections in Armenia.
"These publications testify to the fact that you–Mr. Kocharian–are an exceptional and talented young politician–who by rights is running for the presidency of Armenia.
"We strongly believe that if the people choose you as president–they will be electing a worthy head of government–one who is capable of steering the country at a difficult time for the people–a bright and active politician. The extraordinary large number of publications about you helped us make our decision.
In connection with this–we would like you to send us an appropriate photo and resume. Your photo–along with that of two other prize winners–president of France–Jacques Chirac–and Pope John Paul II–are included in the book " International Hall of Fame."
