YEREVAN (RFE/RL)–President Robert Kocharian and the visiting speaker of the Georgian parliament–Zurab Zhvania–explored the possibility of closer Armenian-Georgian trade links at a meeting on Thursday–official sources said.

The two men agreed that "in the sphere of bilateral cooperation–it is necessary to pay greater attention to the deepening of economic ties," Kocharian’s press office said. One way to do that is to hold a "joint [Armenian-Georgian] business forum," it said.

Earlier in the day–Zhvania attended the funeral of Catholicos Karekin I in Etchmiadzin.
