ABU DHABI, UAE (Armenpress)–Armenian President Robert Kocharian who is in the United Arab Emirates on a working visit met Wednesday with the president of UAE Sheikh Khalifa ben Zayid Al Nahyan. During the meeting the presidents pointed out the necessity of bolstering bilateral partnership by conducting high-level visits and by increasing trade-turnover.
From Abu Dhabi the Armenian president left for Dubai where he met with the prime minister, governor of Dubai Sheikh Muhammad Ben Rashid Al-Maktum. Prior to the meeting the new Armenian Embassy building in Dubai was inaugurated.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the two foreign ministries on conducting consultations. Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian said that Armenia has no serious prerequisites to activate cooperation in political, economic, and legal spheres.
The Armenian president also met with the representatives of the Armenian community.
