YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Prime Minister Robert Kocharian met Tuesday with Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia–Hamid Reza Nikkar Esfahani.
During the meeting–Kocharian said that the situation in the country was under control and the cabinet was working in its usual manner. He also said that it was crucial that the shift of government be carried out in a constitutional way so that a free and fair election would become a logical end to it.
The two were reported to have discussed relations between Armenia and Iran as well as a wide range of problems concerning the trilateral cooperation between Iran–Armenia and Greece.
In recent days Kocharian–in his capacity as Acting President of Armenia has met with numerous foreign diplomats–including US Ambassador to Armenia Peter Tomsen–French Ambassador Michel Legran and other representatives from Europe and the Middle East.
