YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian president Robert Kocharian echoed sentimen’s by the prime minister earlier this week–saying that Armenia’s political crisis had ended during a meeting Thursday with the leadership of the Republican Party of Armenia.
The presidential press office reported that the meeting participants have exchanged views on Armenia’s socio-economic situation.
Both sides agreed that Armenia’s internal political tension had subsided and the country could return to a more calm domestic situation. In the same realm–the sides also acknowledged an increase in business activities in recent weeks.
The two sides prioritized Armenia’s socio-economic well-being and expressed that only through a detailed active plan can the country emerge from the current situation.
The Republican leadership urged the government to take concrete and resolute steps toward introducing a socio-economic relief program–adding that the legislature has a lot to do in this regard.
Participants in the meeting also emphasized the importance of fighting against corruption in Armenia.
