YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian President Robert Kocharian received Iranian ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Koleini on Wednesday–April 18. Bilateral economic cooperation between Armenia and Iran was discussed during the meeting.
According to the presidential press office–both sides noted the registered growth in the economic sector–with many Iranian companies expressing interest in doing business in Armenia. Koleini also mentioned the variety of Armenian goods and products available on the Iranian market. These developmen’s were attributed to the expansion of contacts on various levels between the two governmen’s. Kocharian was quoted as saying Armenia considers Iran one of its principal trade/business partners.
Koleini said the Iranian side is in the process of creating more complex plans for cooperation–in addition to existing smaller ones between the two countries.
Also discussed were the Karabakh peace process and regional issues.
