YEREVAN–Academician Lendrush Khourshoudian died Monday morning from heavy illness. He was 72 years old.
Khourshoudian was born in the Goris Shinouhayr village in 1927. The Doctor of History was chairman of the Armenian History Department at the Yerevan State University. His published works are about the modern history of the Armenian people. Khourshoudian’s books written during the Soviet era have Soviet approaches. In his more recent books and appearances however–he stressed the importance of the existence of national values and tradition and their preservation. His passing is a loss to the Armenian people.
