His Grace–Bishop Mousegh Mardirossian–Prelate of the Western Prelacy–and the Prelacy Religious and Executive Councils have the distinct pleasure of announcing a $100,000 donation to the Prelacy Fund by the Lincy Charitable Foundation.
James D. Aljian–Chairman of the Lincy Foundation–with his letter of August 24–1998–addressed to His Grace Bishop Mousegh Mardirossian–forwarded a check in the amount of $100,000 to the Prelacy.
The $100,000 donation is the second installment of the $500,000 donation which was announced earlier this year. The first portion totaling $200,000 was transferred to the Prelacy last year. During the next two years–the Lincy Foundation will donate an additional $100,000 annually to the Prelacy Fund.
Referring to these donations–His Grace Bishop Mousegh Mardirossian–reiterated that the entire donation will be earmarked to the charitable institutions and orphans’ welfare operating under the auspices and supervision of the Great House of Cilicia.
The Prelate further expressed his gratitude for the immense devotion and generous financial assistance through which the Lincy Foundation has been patronizing the national–educational–charitable and humanitarian projects both in our homeland and in the Diaspora. "In our people’s life–the Lincy Foundation plays a pivotal role," added the Prelate– "its very generous allocations consolidate and solidify the structures that contribute to the prosperity and strength of the statehood of our homeland and invigorate the efforts of our people in Diaspora for survival."
In conclusion–the Prelate stated that "On this occasion and on behalf of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I–we once again express our thanks and gratitude to the prominent benefactor–Mr. Kirk Kerkorian–and pray to our Good Lord to reward with His Grace–him and the Lincy Foundation–who render charitable services to our people."
