The Armenian Community School of Fresno and its Board of Directors recently announced that the Lincy Foundation generously donated $50,000 to the school–and that the funds will be used to enhance and upgrade the school’s computer and science lab–as well as its Armenian program.
The school also received another generous grant in the amount of $20,000–from the Bertha and John Garabedian Foundation.
Mr. and Mrs. Garabedian were residents of Fresno during their long life together. Mr. Garabedian was well known in Fresno as a propagator of fruit trees–a rancher–and a major land owner in the San Joaquin Valley.
They were advocates of education and consistently supported numerous educational institutions. Their donation will go toward enhancing the school’s science program–and maintaining the computer lab to keep it current with ever changing technology.
School principal Rosie Bedrosian explained that the Armenian Community School of Fresno is independent and does not fall under the umbrella of the Armenian church or any organization–thus depends on the generosity of philanthropic institutions such as the Lincy and Garabedian Foundations.
For over 25 years–the Armenian Community School of Fresno has provided a learning environment that also instills and nurtures moral–ethical–and spiritual values.
