YEREVAN (Armenpress)–According to Karo Hovsepian–head of districts’ authority of Marseilles’ 13th and 14th districts–said that Marseilles is where many Armenian educational–cultural–youth and humanitarian centers are located and acting.
Hovsepian also commented Marseilles can be considered one of the spiritual centers of French-Armenia’s.
Hovsepian informed that the Armenian community of Marseilles makes up 7 percent of the Bouche-due-Ronne department and representatives of the community are involved in almost all spheres of life.
A number of Sunday Armenian schools are acting on the territory of the department–and there is a every-day Armenian school in Marseilles–which has about 230 pupils and 40 teachers.
