STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)–The foreign minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic–Naira Melkoumian–arrived in Moscow Tuesday and has held meetings with Armenian community members and Russian political officials.
The Karabakh foreign ministry press office told Noyan Tapan that upon her arrival in Moscow–Melkoumian met with leaders of the Armenian community in Moscow–as well as community business leaders.
On Wednesday–Melkoumian briefed the Russian Strategic Research Institute–the foremost Russian think-tank providing advise and guidance to the Russian government. Following the briefing on the current situation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution–Melkoumian entertained questions–after which she held private talks with institute director Anatoly Kozhokin.
Later on Wednesday–Melkoumian met with deputy Duma chairman Artur Chilingarov and other high-level political officials–among them the chairman of the Russian Socio-Political Fund Aleksei Salman and Citizenship Fund president Viacheslav Nikonov.
On Thursday–Melkoumian held a series of meetings at the Duma–among them a meeting with the Russian-Armenian Parliamentary Cooperation Caucus. The meeting was attended by Caucus chairman Nikolai Rizhkov–and members Sergei Kolesnikoc and Ashot Sarkisian.
Melkoumian also held talks with Russian Duma International Affairs Committee chairman Dmitri Rogozin and Duma member Viacheslav Igrunov.
