YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenian Education and Science Minister Levon Mkrtchian–who was part of the Armenian delegation that accompanied President Robert Kocharian on his visit to Iran–said that the agreement on reciprocal recognition of university diplomas and academic degrees opens thousands of new possibilities in the educational communities for both countries.
While speaking to reporters upon his return form Iran–Mkrtchian praised Iran’s scientific and educational potential. Each year some 1.5 million high school graduates apply to the highly competitive Iranian universities–but only 600,000 get accepted.
Mkrtchian also said that Iran was very interested in Armenia’s achievemen’s in the natural sciences and architecture.
