BUENOS AIRES (Yerevan)–On the occasion of the 44th regional Executive meeting of the South American ARS chapters–Central Executive President Vanouhi Isananian–also visited Montevideo and was present for the ARS’s 65th anniversary celebration in South America.
During the anniversary celebration–the chapter acknowledged all those members who have served the organization for more than 50 years. Also–four new members gave their vows to the organization in the presence of the organization’s president.
The chapter also took the opportunity to start a donation fund for the Vazashen school in the Davoosh region near Azerbaijan. The community was very responsive and it was possible to collect the necessary amount in a very short amount of time. The funds have already been transferred to the ARS’s counterpart in Armenia and will be allocated to the school’s governing body.
During her stay in Uruguay–Ms. Isananian met with many local organizations and community leaders along with some non-governmental representatives. Last Thursday–she also met visited the ARS’s Cordoba "Soseh" chapter.
Between August 14-17 the ARS’s Regional Representative’s meeting took place in Buenos Aires during which a new Executive Council was elected along with the representative for the International meeting.
Ms. Isananian will remain in Buenos Aires until August 21 after which she will stop in Sao Paulo which will be the last leg of her visit. On Thursday–she will be giving a speech in the Armenia Cultural Organization on the role of the ARS in Armenia–Karabakh and the Diaspora.
