YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–At the Monday hearing for the "Trial of 31," witnesses Sirvard Grigorian and Larisa Sargssian–who were present during the search of Armen Rustamian’s home–said that they did not see investigators come across a home-made grenade and five cartridges.
Petros Petrossian–who witnessed the search of defendant Vachagan Kosian’s home–said that while he was elsewhere folding up blankets–investigators told him that after a number of searches–they did–in fact–find several cartridges.
Avetik Kosian–who is the defendant’s father–believes that those cartridges were planted in the house by the investigators conducting the search. Witnesses say the preliminary investigating agency had altered the search report by replacing the word "jacket" with the word "cartridge."
The agency also said that the cartridges belonged to Vachagan’s older brother Baregam–which was also not true. Kosian also said his signature on the report had been forged.
