YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The results of the studying of a videotape of the October 27 events were presented by Moscow lawyer Oleg Yunoshev–a representative of the legal successor of victim Aram Sargsian–at a press conference on March 26. Yelena Galyashina–an employee of the Russian MIA’s Center of Criminal Expertise–carried out the study of the record.
According to her–"there are signs of editing in the depiction and distortion of speech signal" on the tape. Galyashina mentioned that the "possibility the videophonogram was made on video editing equipment mustn’t be excluded." According to Yunoshev–if an original had been presented for study–it would be possible to answer all of the questions put before specialists. He expressed perplexity over the fact that the Armenian Military Prosecutor made a decision on the confiscation of all video material four days after the terrorist act. The videotape was allowed to be studied on July 9–2000–and was then recognized as material evidence and attached to the material of the case.
