YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan/Azg daily)Armenian–Iranian and Turkmen Deputy Foreign Ministers signed protocols on multilateral cooperation in the commercial–economic–banking–energy and transport fields Wednesday. Based on these protocols–a memorandum of mutual cooperation will be signed by the foreign ministers of the countries in April in Yerevan.
At a news conference Wednesday Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Manassarian reported that such cooperation will yield real results.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Mahmud Vayezi in response to reporters’ questions regarding the importance of the cooperation on foreign policy issues–said he believed this multilateral cooperative deal would improve and promote economic development for all countries in the region.
"Development of economic relations between Armenia–Turkmen’stan–and Iran is a guarantee for security in this region," Manassarian declared.
It is expected that the total volume of trade between the countries may reach $20-50 million. Other countries that may join the alliance of the three countries include Greece and Georgia.
