YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Late in February 1999–the Ministry of National Security received information of Nairi Hunanian’s intention to establish a National Party. However the head of the relevant department did not pay special attention to this fact–taking into consideration that Hunanian’s wish on the threshold of the parliamentary elections was not solitary. Secondly–the Ministry of National Security is not entitled to prevent such actions–Public Relations Department–Ministry of National Security reported.
The same source stated that the Ministry did not receive any other information concerning Hunanian which would deserve attention. Regarding Hunanian’s employment against other countries–the statement says that it was Hunanian’s own initiative which was not realized.
