The Regional Executive of the Western Region Homenetmen announced this week the establishment of a new chapter in Phoenix–Ariz.
Located just 380 miles east of Los Angeles–the city has recently enjoyed an economic revival considered to be among the healthiest in the sunbelt. With about 500 Armenian families now calling Phoenix home–the movement to establish an athletic and scouting organization began two years ago. The wheels were set in motion and a petition was submitted for the chapter to be officially recognized.
For the past seven years–the Western US Region has grown by an average of one new chapter annually. Besides its hub of greater Los Angeles–it now has a presence in places as diverse as Santa Clara Valley–Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.
