YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The newly appointed Ambassador of Iceland to Armenia John Edil Egilsson (residing in Moscow) presented his credentials to President of Armenia Robert Kocharian on November 23.
The ambassador assured the Armenian president of Iceland’s readiness to develop versatile relations with Armenia.
Kocharian–for his part–hoped for the diplomat’s mission in Armenia to be effective so as to develop cooperation in various spheres–ranging from bilateral issues to issues regarding various international organizations.
The two discussed the possibilities of developing Armenia-Iceland relations. They emphasized the need for finding common grounds for mutually advantageous cooperation in the economic sphere and noted the importance of forming an appropriate legal and contractual framework.
