YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Karapet Alexanian–chief accountant of the bankrupt "Norinvest" financial consortium–who was sentenced to a nine-year prison term–was released this week because of a decision made by the presidium of the Armenian Supreme Court. Alexanian’s appeal was considered by the court and the charges altered. The earlier sentence was reduced to three year; Alexanian–however–was released under rule of amnesty. The sentences given to Norinvest chief and his brother–Armen Martirossian and Gourgen Martirossian–respectively–remained unchanged.appointing a prime minister.
