YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Hayastan Pan-Armenian Fund said the construction of the 9.7 km-long section of the North- South highway of strategic importance in Nagorno Karabakh is continuing.
This section will connect two villages of Dashbulagh and Baluja and will be the continuation of the Kichan-Dasbulagh section.
Construction of this section of the highway–that will connect Karabakh North with the South–began in December 2001. Currently–the earth works are underway. According to the contract with the building company–the section is to be put into operation in spring 2003.
Recently–the Pan-Armenian Fund Hayastan that allocates funds for the construction–signed a contract with Karabakh’s Dorozhnik constriction company for building a bridge near the village of Shekher.
The company was the winner of a tender. It proposed a plan that cost less than others. The construction of the bridge is supposed to start in April and finish in November.
