YEREVAN (Armenpress)—The United States of America will be officially represented on the centenary of the Armenian Genocide in Yerevan at the Dzidzernagapert Memorial with members of a delegation who will be appointed by the U.S. President Barack Obama, the American Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills announced Monday.
“Along with Armenia, the United States mourn the victims of the massacres and deportation of about 1.5 million Armenians during the last years of the Ottoman Empire,” Ambassador Mills said in a statement. “We should never forget this tragedy and should keep bright the memory of those, who gave their lives.”
It seems to me, that President Obama will play another political game in favour of Rajab Oghloo’s survival, who will call Armenian Genocide as 1915 events. Shame on him!
Mr. Obama do your promise and say the word “G”
It wasn’t simply a “massacre” it was a systematic Genocide crafted by the Ottomon government to erase Armenian culture and existence. It seems the US President not wanting to look like a total Genocide denial enabler will send “reps” to pay their so called respect to this dark chapter in human history. This smoke and mirror act by the US state department has more to do with maintaining relevance in Armenia and Armenian society, it has nothing to do with sincerely participating in the event.
Meanwhile, Russia has recognized the AG, and President Putin has said he will personally attend. Looks like the US is already behind in staying relevant in Armenia.
Armenia must refuse participation and presence of the representatives of such countries at the centenary of the Armenian Genocide in Yerevan at the Tstsernakaberd Memorial, who do not recognize it as Genocide, including USA, Britain, etc.
absolutely

Agree 100%
Obama do the right thing and recognize the Armenian Genocide
Stay true to you promise and don’t let Turkey push you around.
Also go to Armenia ! You are the leader of the free world you need to be there!
Obama will do no such thing. He does not have the courage, the principles ,nor the will. It is obnoxiously obscene hiding behind the cloak of not wanting to ” offend” the turks ,and stepping back from upholding values of human respect, justice and virtue. Nations that recognized the genocide do not seem seem to mind affonting the turks, why should the USA ?, when the turk is just a client-vassal of the USA .turkey today is sitting on the riches and wealth of the millions of Armenians uprroted and scattered across the four winds. A recognition will transcend into reparations . Where will the funds come from ? The USA government turend down the request by WW in 1918-19 for a protectorate for the nascent Armenian state. The request was negated ( the USA needed 13M at the time). Who was the driving force to turn down the protectorate motion from WW, (which had it happened would have saved untold number of lives a d spared the horrors that followed )????. The equivalent of Benanke at that time. Maybe the USA was an indirect, unwilling , accomplice in the genocide ?
We need a Wall of Shame for those governments that aren’t represented, AT LEAST at the Foreign Minister level. And a Hall of Fame for all those who bring their president.
Also, someone needs to take a note of ANYBODY who is indecent enough to go to Gallipoli. Saying ‘anybody’, I don’t care who those attendees are, or what reasons they have. In a context like this, participating at Gallipoli equals to supporting the prototype of German fascism. I would advise ANYBODY who’s planning to go Turkey to think again.
Don’t bother sending anyone. What is the use if you are so scared of Turkey that you won’t recognise the Armenian Genocide. The same Turkey who is supporting ISIS. Shame on all the deniers…we don.t need you. Stay where you are!
Armenia should refuse the attendance of representatives of countries who have not recognized the Genocide ifficially, it does not make any sence their presence.
Ambasador Mills said. “We must never forget those who gave their lives”. Well, Ambasador you are to be corrected. The harsh and sad reality is that. Not one of the over 1.5 Million Armenias gave their lives. Their lives were brutally interrupted and TAKEN by the Genocider government of Turkey and you should characterise it accurately and truthfully and the Turkish government must own up to their crimes against Armenias and Humanity. Furth they must pay appropriate restitution.
By staying silent about Armenian Genocide USA doesn’t strengthen neither Turkey nor itself in the region. Armenians need a closure of more than a hundred years lasting grief process, Turkish people need to have a closure of its dark past and America needs to re-gain its respect in global arena.
Mr. Obama, the time is perfect to create your lasting legacy! Be the leader of justice not dirty politics! Generations will appreciate your integrity!
Let’s please put an end to our collective stupidity and come to the realization that the Armenian Genocide is not recognized by Western powers today not because of Armenia’s “obscurity” or the lack of “awareness” amongst western peoples but because of geopolitics: Western powers need Turks as a buffer against Arabs, Russians and Iranians. And because Jews don’t want any competition to their very lucrative Holocaust business. Therefore, please stop wasting our resources in Washington.
