YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan met Wednesday with Romanian Ambassador to Armenia Krina Prunariu and Romania’s newly appointed military attach? in Armenia, Deputy Colonel Korneliu Kalistru.
According to Defense Ministry Spokespan Seiran Shahsuvarian, Ohanyan told Prunariu and Kalistru that he hoped bilateral military cooperation between the two countries would deepen in the coming years.
Kalistru, who was recently appointed to be Romania’s military attach? in Armenia, assured Ohanyan that he will continue the work of the previous attach? with new enthusiasm in order to reach a new level of cooperation between the two countries.
The sides also referred to the political and economic cooperation between the two countries pointing out also the necessity of boosting military cooperation.
During talks, Ohanian said Armenia would like to boost its cooperation with Romania in a number of fields, including peacekeeping activities in Afghanistan. He also underscored the positive cooperation in the military-education sphere.
The sides also spoke about the reforms taking place in Armenia within the frameworks of the country’s European-integration process and the NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan program.
