YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A three-party, Russian-Iranian-Armenian commission that was set up to examine prospects for building an oil refinery in Armenia’s Meghri region, which borders Iran, is scheduled to convene in Yerevan early May.
Armenian Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen Movsisyan said Wednesday that experts are currently preparing the feasibility plan and will discuss in Yerevan some of its points. He said the timetable of building the refinery will be specified soon.
He said the cost of the project is over $2 billion. The refinery is supposed to refine 7.5 million tons of oil annually.
