YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The OSCE Minsk group co-chairs met in Portugal’s capital Lisbon June 18-19 to continue their consultations–aimed at facilitating the conflicting sides to seek a mutually acceptable peace formula for the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The newly appointed French co-chairman Hugues Peret also participated in the meeting.
One of the goals of the Lisbon meeting–according to a Baku based 525 Gazet–was to introduce Peret into the conflict’s regulation process. The brokers were expected to examine the both sides’ positions and try to design a plan of further actions to end the conflict. Armenian and Azeri representatives did not attend the Lisbon meeting. The 525 Gazet reported that after the Lisbon meeting the co-chairs will make another visit to the region.
