YEREVAN (Armenpress/IRNA)–Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian received on Monday a delegation of the Iranian Foreign Ministry–headed by Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi–currently visiting Armenia.
As reported by the Ministry’s public affairs department–the delegation head congratulated Oskanian on his new appointment and hoped for further development and growth of Armenian-Iranian relations during Oskanian’s days in office.
Thanking the guests–Oskanian assured that whatever changes are made in Armenia’s foreign policy–they will touch upon Armenian-Iranian relations only for their further development and growth.
Both sides emphasized great potential and prospects for development of mutual relations and pledged to promote political and mutually profitable economic cooperation.
Oskanian introduced changes in Armenia’s foreign policy–stressing they will mainly concern the principles and Armenia’s approach to peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict. He said Armenia will pursue the package deal process of the conflict resolution.
The Iranian Deputy Minister emphasized establishment of stability in the region–stressing that Iran attentively follows the Karabakh resolution process and is extremely interested in settlement of the conflict between its two neighboring states.
