YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian last week received a NATO delegation led by Lieutenant-General Joel Marchan.
Among issues discussed at the meeting were the current level of Armenia-NATO relations and cooperation under the Partnership for Peace Program.
The sides also stressed the importance of establishing an Armenian representation at the NATO Headquarters–which will promote the exchange of information and expanded cooperation. Armenia is the only NATO member which has neither diplomatic nor military representation at NATO. Oskanian reported that Armenia would soon assign a permanent representative to the NATO Headquarters.
Oskanian and the NATO senior official pointed to the importance of the current training of Armenian military and civil personnel being implemented within the framework of the Partnership for Peace Program.
