BATUMI (Armenpress)–Armenia’s Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian was scheduled to visit the Armenian-populated region of Javakhk Saturday, before completing his three day visit to neighboring Georgia.
In Javakhk, he was scheduled to meet with community leaders, as well as Armenian members of the Georgian parliament.
Oskanian Friday visited Batum, the capital of Georgia’s autonomous republic of Adjaria, where he was welcomed by its prime minister Levan Varshalomidze.
Armenian foreign ministry said the two men discussed economic cooperation between Armenia and Adjaria and spoke about the opening of the Consulate General of Armenia in Batum, which has become a popular destination for thousands of Armenian vacationers.
Minister Oskanian also visited the Holy Savior Armenian Church in Batum.
On Saturday in the Lori province in Armenia, Oskanian will have a meeting with heads of diplomatic representations and international organizations accredited in Georgia.
