GLENDALE–More than 80 guests attended Chamlian School’s Gymnasium Fundraising reception held on the evening of October 25. The highly anticipated event was graciously hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Kevork and Mirna Kacharian at their home in La Canada Flintridge, California.
After a warm greeting by the hosts, guests entered the yard to the beautiful sounds of live jazz music. The evening began with opening remarks by Raffi Kendirjian, Gymnasium Fundraising Chairperson.
Following his remarks, Kendirjian invited Western Prelate Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian to share a few words and his invocation.
“About two years ago, we witnessed a historic occasion when His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, conducted the groundbreaking of the gym. In the two years since, we are exceedingly proud and happy that with the valuable support of the parents, parent-support committee, and the efforts of the Chamlian Gym Fundraising Committee, this dream is becoming a reality. A healthy body is a prerequisite for a healthy mind and spirit. This new gym will offer our students a more enhanced physical education curriculum; which will augment their overall well-being. We hope and look forward to conducting the official opening of the gym in the near future,” said Arch. Mardirossian.
Principal Vazken Madenlian then took the stand and spoke about the importance of the project and thanked the hosts. “This was a wonderful evening filled with lots of fun. The Kacharians were wonderful hosts, and we thank them very much.”
Mirna Kacharian, then thanked everyone for attending the event.
The participants enjoyed a wonderful evening filled with fine dining, live music, and a show by comedian, Ara Basil. The event was a huge success as it raised over $27,000 for the Gymnasium Project.
“Three words sum up the charming fundraiser we had at Kevork and Mirna Kacharian’s place on Friday: fun, classy, and above all, gratifying! We cannot thank everyone enough,” mentioned Kendirjian.
Chamlian School’s Administration is grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Kevork and Mirna Kacharian for their continuous support and generosity. The Administration also wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to those who participated in the fundraising effort.
